New Academic Year 2019-2020

It is a new academic year of 2019-2020.  It is going to be a year of immense possibilities and challenges.  It's time to unfold new pages and start a new chapter. We Have A New Principal - Dr.Sr.Marietta D'mello, the former provincial of sisters of St.Ann's Congregation of Providence, took charge as a new principal of St.Theresa's College, Eluru on 6th June, 2019.  Wholeheartedly the Management, Staff and Students welcome her to lead and guide the college.  The welcome celebrations was organized by the newly elected staff club members Dr.D.Fathima Rani, Mrs.Y.Neeraja and Mrs.Santhosh Jhawar.

Student Union Inauguration

Department of Applied Bio-Sciences organized Foundation Day cum Student Union Inauguration on 5th July, 2019.The Chief Guest was Dr.M.Kamala Kumari, Dean CDC Adikavi Nannayya University, Rajamahendravaram.We are proud to say that she is an alumnae of our college.In her speech she recollected the days of her studies in St.Theresa and congratulated the young leaders for being studying in this prestigious institution which has crossed many mile stones since its inception and standing as one among the top colleges.She also stressed on the values a student leader should have to be successful in their life.Correspondent Rev.Sr.Lourdu Mary blessed the gathering on the occasion of foundation day.Vice principle and PG Director Rev.Sr.Showrilu and Rev.Sr.Suseela, Vice Principal, Inter Campus greeted the young leaders who assumed their office. The senior most members of the college Mrs.T.Rohini Kumari and Dr.G.Jyothi were graced the occasion.

Microbiology Guest Lecture

Department of Microbiology organized a guest talk on 28th June, 2019to all the Final year Applied Science students with Dr.P.Anitha Pedapati, scientist, Indian Institute of Oil palm research, Pedavegi as the resource person on the topic on Breaking seed dormancy in oil palm.

Research Fellowship

In the months of May and June, Ms.NRD.Vineela attended a “Summer Researh Fellowship Programme” sponsored by Indian Science Academies in Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Centre for Biomedical research,Delhi University under the guidance of Dr.Manisha Yadav, Assistant Professor in Molecular Biology and Immunology and completed her research project on “A comparative study and phylogenetic analysis of NDM-I genes between faecal and urinary tract isolates of E.coli”.

Student internships

II B.Voc CALT Students attended an Internship in Diagnostic labs in and around Eluru to have Hands on experience on various medical procedures.II ZNC Students went for an Internship Programme on Nutrition and Dietetics in various hospitals like Andhra Hospitals, ASRAM Hospital, Euru, Kamineni Hospital, Sentini Hospital, Ramesh Cardiac Centre, Nagarjuna Hospital, Vijayawada, KIIMS, Apollo, CARE Hospitals, Hyderabad and GSL Hospital, Rajamahendravaram in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Credit Transfer Programme

As a part of “Credit transfer Programme” II MBN students attended TrainingProgramme on “Food Processing and Value Addition” at KVK, Dr.Y.S.R.Horticulture University, Venkataramannagudem from 4th April to 18th April, 2019.

Submission of Ph.D. Thesis

On 30th April, 2019- Mrs.Y.Neeraja submitted her Ph.D. thesis on “Production, Optimization and Evaluation of Bio-oil from Algal species of Godavari Region” under the guidance of Dr.Ammani, Professor, Department of Botany and Microbiology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur.
