Departmental Acitivities

• The International Women’s Day Was Celebrated In CH.S.D.ST.THERESA’S COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (A), ELURU on 9.3.2023 by the Centre for Women Studies in collaboration with the Departments of Telugu and Hindi and  NSS. The Chief Guest for the celebration was Mrs. S. H. Deepti, an entrepreneur who runs a start up and is into e commerce. Also a team of doctors from Ayushhospitals,  Eluru also participated in the programme.  As a part of the programme,  the principal of the college Dr. Sr. Mercy wished the gathering and emphasized on the pre-requisites of a successful woman. She mentioned that the real beauty of the woman lies in her acumen and her performance rather than in the outer appearance.  She encouraged the students to build strong skills and abilities which will become their identity.  She also added a note on how the college is providing various opportunities to empower women students. 

  
  
  
  
  
  

• • Soil transmitted helminths (STH) are a significant public health concernfor India.Worms in children interfere with nutrient uptake,and can contribute to anaemia,malnourishment and impaired mental and physical development.National deworming mop day was celebrated on March14th 2023 in our campus to all students aged below19 years.Albendazole -400 mg tablets were distributed by Department of Microbiology & Biochemistry staff Dr.A.Padmavathi, Dr.Y.Neeraja,Ms.V.LalithaPavani and Mrs.B.Stella to total  500 students out of it 325 are from  II year students 175 are from I years actively.

  
  
  
  
  
  

• On 3rd February, 2023 As a part of  curriculum 1st BSC MBN and ZNC  Department of Nutrition and Dietetics  organized, a Fruit carving Exhibition  by students which was open for everyone.

From 21 st Nov to 26th Nov 2022 Dr.Y.Neeraja participated in interdisciplinary Six day national webinar cum faculty development programme on " Emerging trends and technologies in development skills in higher education organised by Department of English and Zoology, JMJ college for women(A),Tenali.

On Nov 12th Mission Annual FETE was organised. As a part of it  Department of Nutrition put up stall on Dry fruits milk shake and Oreo milk shake. Microbiology and Biochemistry department  put up stall on Onion  Pakodi.

• On 5^th July, 2021 Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s College for Women (A), Eluru celebrated its 69^th Foundation Day on google meet platform.

• On 30^th JULY, 2021 Dr.A.Padmavathi was felicitated on completion of 25 years of long service in this prestigious institute.  She was felicitated by the Management, Department members, Staff club members and family.

  ·        On 21^st Sep : All the Applied Bio-Sciences students presented their project viva in the respective field of interest.  All together 16 project works with the minimum number of five in a group presented.

  • 69^th Union Inauguration is organized by the Department on 26th October, 2021.
