“Taste of India”

III rd  year applied sciences conducted the ward extension program on the topic “Taste of India” on 26th November 2015 under the guidance of our ward tutor Ms. Lumbini Madam (lecturer in Biochemistry).  The students of III B.sc -MBN, MB Computer, M B Chemistry (48 students) participated in the program.  The program  concentrated on the different traditional foods of different states of India.  The states like Kerala , Tamilnadu  Goa , Andhrapradesh, Telangana ,Orissa, Chhattisgarh  and Maharashtra, Karnataka were represented.




’THE FLUID OF LIFE’ 


On January  7th 2016 a ward extension programmeon ’THE FLUID OF LIFE’ was organized by Mrs.D.Alekhya, Lecturer in biochemistry along with IIIZNC ward students.The main motto of this programme was to create awareness among different types of blood groups ,erythroblastosis foetalis,Bombay blood group ,importance of donating blood to the persons who are in need in order to save their lives.O bloodgroup  is the Universal donar as it can be donated to all blood types and AB blood group is universal recipient where as it can receive blood from all blood types.



Miniature Wonders

On NOV-29th july 2016.Final Year Applied Science students (MBN, MB Chemistry and MB Comp) presented their Knowledge Extension program on “7 Miniature Wonders”. They wonderfully presented the various beneficial aspects of Microbes in selected 7 different fields in the form of a skit cum presentations. Students presented the skit in the form of “Kaun banega karodpati – Miniature wonders special”.  The program gained the appreciation form the staff and students. Dr.Rani, Incharge HOD of Home Science gave her valuable feedback on the program and appreciated the students for the impressive presentation of the topic.

INTERNATIONAL STUDY TOUR TO THAILAND

November 13 to 21, 2019 - 4 staff members Dr.P.Jyothi kumari, Dr.A.Padmavathi, Sr.Sunila Rani.P and Mrs.D.Lumbini Devi, 2 students M.Vineetha, III MBN, M.Devi, III MB Chemistry attended IMRF’s 13th International Conference Thailand at Asian Instititute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand. Staff and students of the department also presented 5 papers in the programme.

Filed trip to Surya bio-products

On 20th November 2018 Dept of Microbiology organised a field trip to Surya Bio-products vatluru with regard to the Microbiology Cluster paper Bio- Fertilizers and Bio-pesticides. 20 students of Final MBN, MBChe & MBCs along with Ms.Ripsee.R visited the plant and learned about the maintenance of pure bacterial and fungal cultures, production and packaging of bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides We the students of III BSC Microbiology cluster students visited to SURYA BIOPRODUCTS industry under the guidance of Mrs.Neerja mam and Ms.Ripsee mam as a part of our study module and gained knowledge about   various techniques and processes involved   by the this field trip.  

Nutrition Week Programmes

November 21, 2019 - As a part of POSHAN ABHIYAN, III B.Sc., Nutrition cluster students visited Joy play school, Eluru and emphasized on “Right choice of Food and Handwashing practices” to the school children. Staff members Mrs.B.Lakshmi Sudha and Mrs.Jaya Sheela accompanied the students through out the programme. September, 2021 – Nutrition Week Celebrations ·        Significance of Nutrition week and the importance of Nutrition in the early stage of life. ·        National Nutrition week was inaugurated on 1 st September with the first year students & III year students on this occasion Dr.P.Jyothi Kumari spoke on significance of Nutrition week – saying that its being observed on 1 st September, 1975by American Dietetic Association.
